Oh well, time did pass in the meanwhile, well – at least since my last blogpost about my homeoffice / remotwork setup. I did upgrade a little bit. Not too much, but I wanted to post about this anyhow. In the past, it wasn’t possible due to technical issues (will be upcoming in another blogpost..). 😄

Version 2025

Anyhow – here is my updated home office setup – Version 2025.1:

What changed since last blogpost? Here is the setup view from August 2023:

You might see that the background change a bit, the wall has an acoustic paneel (not yet mounted correctly, another issue to be done), the microphone and also the LED monitor lights changed. There is an additional webcam on the middle monitor.

Audio

Using the Rode NT-USB was nice and great but I wanted to have something better and so I grabbed the chance when beyerdynamic offered a great sale after summer and I could get a beyerdynamic M 70 Pro X microphone. And I did not regret it. Having this XLR microphone also meant that I needed a good audio interface. So I did not want to have an usb mixer inbetween, where I would only have additional cables and too many inputs. I did choose a Vocaster Two with 2 XLR inputs and USB C connectivity and THAT made a huge impact then.

Using the beyerdynamic mounted on a great arm and with a protection the sound difference to the Rode NT USB ist just so much better. I have the option with the Vocaster Hub Software to have some nice sound effects, but have it on normal setting so that it is not too fancy.

Video

As an additional video source (next to the built in webcam from mac) I have a USB HD Webcam from emeet C960. I use this when i am presenting things or hosting an online workshop and therefore look frontal into the camera. And switch camera perspectives via OBS Broadcaster Studio. Why did I choose this webcam? Other people recommened it and I did not want to pay too much money for it back then.

That’s it for the update.
