I am excited to share that I have successfully passed the Professional Agile Leadership I (PAL I) certification from Scrum.org. This certification validates that I am a leader who understands the value Agile can bring to a business and how to actively practice Agile. It also demonstrates my knowledge of why leadership support of agile teams is essential to achieving organizational agility and what leaders can do to support their teams to help them achieve higher performance.
In the mid of March month I finally passed the certification. I just want to share a few bits of information in case you haven’t heard of PAL I yet.
What is PAL I ?
The PAL I is a new and great certificate, which I was able to attend within our company, „validates that you are a leader who understands the value Agile can bring to a business and how to actively practice Agile. This certification demonstrates why leadership support of agile teams is essential to achieving organizational agility and what leaders can do to support their teams to help them achieve higher performance.“
I can recommend the information and guidance through Scrum. And I was able and lucky enough to attend a training with Marc Kaufmann and Simon Flossmann who did a unforgettable two day onsite training. Together with other coworkers in our company and through different departements we did share the Scrum Values.
Who needs PAL I
Well, it depends. I will not tell you, that you need it. But I can recommend this certificate as it proves that you familiar with scrum and agile values, know how to lead by example, also share and value teamwork, probe complex situations and are keen on looking over the edge.
What did I learn
I am very keen on looking on new trainings on my journey while transforming my agile role from Software Tester -> Software Test Engineer / Consultant -> Software Testing Methodologist/Expert onto Agile Leader / Product Owner. With my technological background I learned a lot about responsibilities of other roles and they mean and have an impact on agile teamwork.
I am not going to share all the training gems/treasures, but one big point is communication and transparency. I am happy that I learned that I am on a good way on my changing journey (see above) and that I can use the learnings in my current project.
This blogpost is just a small little note for myself and maybe I will edit and add additional information later. But if you want to comment, or add your thoughts – feel free to do so in the comment section.
